What were once encoders, simple magnetic or optical components, have now evolved to become true intelligent peripherals capable of providing accurate angle or positioning information through dedicated communication protocols.
Especially in the last 15 years, new generations of products have come to the market that, thanks to the development of magnetic, optical, and microelectronic technologies, have made encoders into complex devices.
As is always the case, the technological evolution of a product opens space for introducing new ideas or further optimizations and implementations of existing products.
In this area, the new Flux products distributed by Servotecnica are positioned. Representation’s positioning encoders or angle gauges combine the hysteresis-free and high-precision features typical of an optical encoder with the robustness of an inductive encoder and the wide tolerances of a magnetic encoder. This is made possible by the features of the GMI (Giant Magneto Impedance) technology used in these absolutely innovative encoders.
This technology for positioning measurements maximizes the interaction between the magnetic and inductive solutions. This is an innovation through which Flux can design and build revolutionary encoders with unique features and cutting-edge performance.
They are available in three different families: the GMI angle encoder, which guarantees high performance; the GMI rotary encoder, the most versatile; and the Inductive Rotary Encoder, the most compact solution.
The unique geometry of Flux encoders and their small axial dimensions make them suitable for integration into many applications, including robotics, semiconductor machinery, medical, machine tools, and mobile optical heads.
